Rainbow Riders values the teachers as the most important component to a high quality program. The day-to-day interactions, communication, curriculum and environment are guided by the teachers. It is critical that they understand child development, respect children as unique individuals, and work with the families as partners.
We encourage our teaching staff to embrace the opportunity to grow and to learn from our children and families, as learning is a lifelong process. Every day presents a unique challenge that requires creativity, flexibility, patience, good communication, teamwork, and a love for children. We hope that teachers in our program will enjoy the journey with our families and co-teachers as we strive to provide a wonderful learning environment that encourages each child to reach their fullest potential.
We have many ways that we engage teachers in developing themselves professionally. Whether through workshops, conferences, classes or involvement in early childhood professional organizations, we believe that on-going professional development not only keeps teachers inspired in their work but it also keeps the workplace positive. This important for children, families and all the staff at Rainbow Riders!
Teachers sign a contract each August for the upcoming school year. We ask for a one-year commitment for full-time staff and at least the semester for part time staff. We are always looking for substitute teachers to help in the classrooms when teachers are out sick or for personal days. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working with children and families.
