Role of Documentation

Rainbow Riders is a developmental program celebrating the abilities of each child as they develop at their own pace.  Teachers observe children and listen to the themes that arise during their play.  Activities are planned accordingly and documented in various ways, including observation sheets, photographs, weekly plans, and journals. Written observations provide important examples of the child’s work and are collected along with work samples to assess developmental growth, inform curriculum and communicate to families about their child’s experience in our school. Families and teachers meet during the year to set goals and review the child’s developmental portfolio.
